At Kąkolewo aerodrome, located in the Grodzisk Wielkopolski municipality (58 km from the center of Poznań), the "Aerosfera. Airport of Things" laboratory has been established, focusing on research and development in the applications of unmanned aerial vehicles, autonomous systems, and flight control.

The AEROSFERA project has also supported the development of new drone solutions, particularly in agriculture, where they are utilized for testing and virtual consulting in some areas (project EDWIN). However, this is not the only application; through ICT and UAVs, we can explore new areas such as:
- aviation (applications and IT systems, next-generation hardware, pilot training, monitoring of pilots' psychophysical conditions),
- precision agriculture (including both large farm owners and companies providing services for smaller farms) and precision construction,
- energy,
- strategic environmental protection and forestry,
- logistics (transport services, courier services),
- insurance and crisis situations, etc.
