Official Opening of the PSNC Aerospace Lab in Kąkolewo

We are proud to announce the completion of the infrastructure project "Aerosfera: Aerodrome of Things." All planned purchases have been made, and the laboratories are fully equipped.

The Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center has expanded its capabilities with state-of-the-art laboratory and measuring equipment, components and machines for prototyping, as well as sensors that can be integrated with UAVs and testing equipment. All of this is part of the Autonomous and Energy-Efficient Airport Infrastructure Lab, the UAV Development Lab, the Airport Safety and Security Operations Lab, and the Flight and Airspace Control Systems Development Lab. The total value of the project exceeds 21 million PLN.

We have also officially opened the hangar and laboratory facilities located at the Hieronim Franek Kowalski Airport in Kąkolewo. The opening took place on September 14, 2023, during the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by (from left): Mirosław Czyrnek, Mirosław Nawrocki, Piotr Szymaniak, Cezary Mazurek, Maciej Staroiński, Piotr Haberland, Krzysztof Kurowski, Agnieszka Konrad, and Robert Pękal.

It was the first opportunity for most PCSS employees to see the new facility. During the organized banquet, they enjoyed live music, viewed a static aircraft exhibition, watched aerobatic performances by the Orlen Żelazny Aerobatic Group, and experienced a hot air balloon ride.
